Memorial Day 2011

This weekend marks the official beginning of tourist season in the Black Hills. Unfortunately for most, this is not a good weekend to get out and be in nature because of all the rain we have been getting in the past few days. However, if you are able to catch a break in the clouds, I recommend making a short trip for a hike on the Flume Trail near Rockerville. It's a nice easy hike great for early in the season after being cooped up all winter long. The trail is almost 17 miles long but you can choose how far you want to hike and get great views along the way.
The trail begins at the Coon Hollow Trailhead on the west side of Highway 16 to the South of Rockerville on Silver Mountain Rd.
